You can run, but you can't hide.

He has put a lot of effort in being incognito. He doesn't want his picture shown anywhere and whenever he is doing interviews, it is merely by fax. I've done some research and I've dug up a picture of him, but this photo is from 1983, so I could imagine he has changed a lot since then.

Ladies and gentlemen, here's the master of deconstruction, Martin Margiela.

The protégé

In terms of menswear, Raf Simons has always been the one to look for when you need some inspiration. His signature clean lines and sharp tailoring have been influencing every part of the fashion industry for a very long time.

Now, the next generation tutored by Raf Simons is stepping out of his shadow and trying to create his own path.

Intergalactic Queen

Nele Fayen is the name of a very talented fashion designer that graduated from the famous Fashion Academy in Antwerp, Belgium. Where designers such as Ann Demeulemeester and Bernhard Willhelm also studied. Her graduate collection was called Intergalactic Queen and got very good reviews (OBVIOUSLY). I hope to see much more from this super talent.
I feel very honered and lucky to say that two of her pieces (photos below) are going to be shipped to me! YIPPY!

Margiela - My hero

He is without a doubt one of my favorite designers. His clothes are so strong, futuristic, beautiful and brilliant.
I am deeply in love with the FW 07/08 collection and his SS 08 collection. I love the big shoulders and his use of color. I admire him and his work highly. And I am not the only one. He has a bunch of fans and is said to be a genious in the fashion business (yes, he is). Nicolas Ghesquiere (Balenciaga) is also a huge fan and has said that he only wears Margiela.

He studied at Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts, graduated 1980 and worked as a freelance designer for five years after graduation. Between 1985 and 1987 he worked for Jean Paul Gaultier, before showing his first collection under his own label in 1988. "
